Advantages and applications of modified PET plastic

PET plastic has excellent heat resistance, weather resistance, electrical properties, rigidity and strength, and its reinforcement, flame retardant modification and alloying modification can significantly improve its heat resistance, modulus, toughness, dimensional stability and flame retardancy. Modified PET plastics are widely used in the fields of electronic and electrical, automotive and home appliances.
Advantages of modified PET plastic
Compared with other modified plastics, modified PET plastics have the advantages of heat resistance, good mechanical properties and high cost performance.
Good heat resistance: The heat deflection temperature and long-term use temperature are the highest among thermoplastic general engineering plastics. Reinforced PET is impregnated in a solder bath at 250°C for 10s with almost no deformation or discoloration.
Good mechanical properties: bending strength 200MPa, elastic modulus up to 4000MPa, creep and fatigue resistance is also very good, high surface hardness, mechanical properties are similar to thermosetting plastics.
Cost-effective: Because ethylene glycol used in the production of PET is almost half cheaper than butylene glycol used in the production of PBT, PET plastic and reinforced PET plastic are highly cost-effective engineering plastics.
Application of modified PET plastic in various fields
In the electrical field, halogen-free flame retardant reinforced PET materials with high glow wire and high CTI have excellent yellowing and precipitation resistance, good molding processability, and are used in inverter skeletons, skeletons, compressor terminal covers, relays, etc.
In the field of home appliances, modified PET plastic is mainly used in lamp holders, soymilk machine bases, hair straighteners, IH cooker coil discs, electric iron shells, air fryers, etc. Juxelon reinforced PET plastic has excellent mechanical properties, good dimensional stability, high heat resistance, good surface gloss, good color stability, and the grades are PET1200, PET1300, PET1210M, PET1305M, etc., which are used in oven handles, home appliance shells, rice cooker electromagnetic heating plates, etc.
