How to handle the poor heat resistance of modified ABS plastics

ABS is a copolymer of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. The thermal deformation temperature of modified ABS plastic is 93-118 ℃, and the product can be increased by about 10 ℃ after annealing treatment. The modified ABS plastic still exhibits a certain degree of toughness at -40 ℃ and can be used in the temperature range of -40-100 ℃. However, in general, in order to meet the requirements of use for certain environmental temperatures above 100 ℃, the only way to improve the heat resistance of modified ABS plastics is to expand their non application areas.
Why improve the heat resistance of modified ABS plastics? Modified ABS plastic has good processability and toughness, but its heat resistance is insufficient, which limits its application range. Usually, the Vicat softening point of modified ABS plastic is around 95 ℃, and the heat-resistant ABS exceeds 100 ℃. Therefore, improving the heat resistance of modified ABS plastic is necessary for expanding its application fields.
Especially in the field of automobiles and electronic appliances, for automotive interior components such as dashboard, toolbox, ashtray, and new extrusion components; External components of automobiles, such as car bases, painted rearview mirror door panels, flow barriers, transmission covers, etc., all require good heat resistance.
