Polyethylene terephthalate is the most important variety of thermoplastic polyester, English name Polyethylene terephthalate referred to as PET or PEIT (hereinafter or known as PET), commonly known as polyester resin. The molecular mass of the repeating unit molar is 192 g/mol. It is a condensation of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol, and together with PBT, it is collectively called thermoplastic polyester, or saturated polyester.
