Detailed information
The PC/ABS alloy combines the excellent properties of both materials. On the one hand, it enhances ABS’s heat resistance and tensile strength; on the other hand, it reduces the viscosity of the PC melt, improving processing performance and reducing the sensitivity of internal stresses and impact strength to product thickness.
PC and ABS exhibit a certain degree of compatibility, but the compatibility between the two materials is significantly influenced by the specific grades of the two components, their mixing ratios, and the processing techniques employed. To effectively enhance interfacial compatibility, the most effective approach is to add a compatibilizer to the blend system. Commonly used compatibilizers include maleic anhydride-grafted POE, ABS graft copolymers, PE graft copolymers, styrene-maleic anhydride graft copolymers (SMA), acrylic or methacrylic ester copolymers, amine compounds, SAN resins, as well as two-component compatibilization technologies.
