Detailed information

ABS material is a graft copolymer made by grafting together three monomers: acrylonitrile, 1,3-butadiene, and styrene. Its molecular formula can be expressed as (C8H8·C4H6·C3H3N)x; however, in practice, it is typically a blend of butadiene-containing graft copolymers and acrylonitrile-styrene copolymers, with acrylonitrile accounting for 15% to 35%, butadiene for 5% to 30%, and styrene for 40% to 60%. The most common emulsion-type ABS formulation has a ratio of A:B:S = 22:17:61, whereas in bulk ABS, the proportion of B is usually lower, around 13%. The molding temperature for ABS plastic ranges from 180°C to 250°C; however, it is recommended not to exceed 240°C, as higher temperatures may cause the resin to decompose.
