PC-PBT is a blend of PC and PBT, typically supplied in granular form.
PC-PBT is a material made by blending PC and PBT, and the blend is typically supplied in pellet form. If these two materials are simply mixed together and directly injection-molded, the resulting product will perform very poorly and is prone to delamination.
The advantage of PC is its excellent rigidity and high toughness at room temperature, but it suffers from severe thermal deformation at high temperatures. Its disadvantages include susceptibility to stress cracking and relatively high viscosity. In contrast, PBT boasts the advantage that its rigidity is unaffected by temperature and exhibits minimal deformation. By blending PC and PBT in this manner, the resulting PC-PBT material combines the strengths of both.
